Automatic Recording of Traffic Offences at Intersections
Intersections are one of the most accident-prone and complex monitoring areas for recording of traffic offences. Given its powerful hardware and software capabilities, the ATOM MS system can identify and record all traffic offences at intersections reliably.
The distributed version of the ATOM MS system ensures monitoring of intersections of any complexity.
An extensive body of evidence is provided for each identified traffic offence including (depending on the traffic offence):
- video recording of the offence from the surveillance camera;
- video frame from the surveillance camera;
- video frame from the recognition camera;
- video camera from the recognition camera in the street where the offender went;
- video frame with a closeup of the license plate, etc.
In certain cases, drivers receive all the six video frames attached to the administrative offence protocol.
Simultaneously with automatic recording of traffic offences, the ATOM MS system:
- Takes photos of all passing motor vehicles;
- Records items and events (foreign items, fires, explosions, etc.) and notifies operators;
- Recognizes all visually readable license plates of vehicles crossing monitoring areas, logs them and checks them against connected databases at the same time;
- Identifies types, makes and models of vehicles;
- Video recording of the intersection operations (optional);
- Collecting traffic information (as a vehicle detector) for usage in automatic traffic control systems and other subsystems of the STCS (smart traffic control system).
